Rylee is an adaptable and awesome eleven-year-old from West Chicago with a great sense of humor. She loves swimming, drawing, cooking and Chinese food.
Diagnosed with congenital anomalies of cerebrovascular system, Rylee wished to go to Hawaii to swim with dolphins and attend a luau. Make-A-Wish Illinois helped Rylee live out her dream in the island paradise.
Rylee visited the Polynesian Cultural Center where she attended the Ali’I Luau, where she enjoyed a combination of food and entertainment. Among other activities in her wish adventure, Rylee went tandem parasailing in Honolulu which she absolutely loved. Her favorite activity, however, was visiting Sea Life Park Hawaii. At Sea Life Park, Rylee was able to learn about dolphins and even received a dolphin belly ride.
Lori, Rylee’s mother, shared that although Rylee was sad to leave Hawaii after her wish, she was nonetheless full of excitement. This experience gave the family time to reconnect and shifted the focus away from Rylee’s medical condition. It brought positivity into their lives and allowed the family to have time for fun. Lori shared that Rylee will never forget her Hawaii adventure.
“Rylee was all smiles during her dolphin encounter and will always remember this experience. She loves art and since coming home, she has been drawing a lot of Hawaii themed pictures!” Lori said.
Rylee’s wish experience has inspired her creativity and is just what she needed.
