Wish child Kayla

“ The most special thing about the wish was spending time together as a family ”

- Kayla's Parents

Kayla, 17, from Chicago, is a bright, upbeat and positive girl who enjoys reading, dancing and spending time with friends. Diagnosed with kidney disease, Kayla is currently awaiting a kidney transplant.

Referred to Make-A-Wish through a call from her family, Kayla expressed her desire to visit Hollywood because she plans to be a star one day. She was excited about the opportunity to get away from Chicago’s cold weather to shop in the sun drenched streets of California. Kayla and her family had never traveled outside of Chicago, so this was a new experience for all of them. Her family shared that she had the “best time ever.”
