Judah Visits San Diego

Judah at the San Diego Zoo

“ Judah enjoyed every minute of his wish. ”

- Judah's Mom

Judah is a funny and friendly nine-year-old boy, who loves to talk. Judah and his mother live in O’Fallon with their two adorable dogs- Puddles and Joey. Judah has the most fun pretending to be a ninja while playing with his Lego’s and practicing karate. On rainy days Judah loves to play car racing games on his Xbox and rock out playing the drums. He loves movies like Disney’s Cars, Avatar: The Last Air Bender, and Transformers.

At birth, Judah was diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome. As a result, he has a slight delay in motor skills, is often lethargic, has a poor pulse, and suffers from shortness of breath. Despite these obstacles, Judah remains an outgoing and passionate young boy.

Judah told Make-A-Wish® Illinois of his dream to visit his dad and half brother in California for his birthday. According to his mom, “Judah enjoyed every minute of his wish from being picked up at home in a limo, to the plane ride, to being able to choose his favorite car to ride in when we arrived in San Diego, a blue Mustang!” Their first night in California was spent at the San Diego Zoo where Judah saw a real panda for the first time and got his face painted like a tiger. The next day Judah was treated like a celebrity when he met the Master Builder at Legoland. Together they made a replica of Judah and had it placed in Legoland! During his California adventure, Judah and his mom also went to Sea World where Judah saw the famous Shamu and almost touched a dolphin. Judah’s mom wrote of the wish, “the most important event of this San Diego trip was seeing his father and his father’s family. I am grateful to Make-A-Wish Illinois for being able to give Judah something I could not have given him myself. Judah and I thank you for every minute of his experience and we pray you continue to bless other kids and families by granting their wishes.”

This is such a beautiful story. It is amazing when such great children are blessed to do things that they dream of all because of the generosity of organizations like Make a Wish. Thank you Make a Wish for continuing to put smiles on children's faces.
