Amazing Age Goes to Disney

Age and Cinderella

“ Age was able to smile and forget about all of his medical issues. ”

- Age's Mom

When Age was three-years-old he was diagnosed with Stage 3 Wilms Tumor along with a genetic disorder which put him in end-stage renal failure. He does not have any kidneys and is undergoing dialysis treatment. Despite the challenges he has had to face, Age continues to pull through and come out on top. Even though he gets tired, Age never wants to stop trying to keep up with his four older siblings. These are just a few reasons why his family calls him, “Amazing Age.”

When Age got referred to Make-A-Wish he was three and his mom remembers that it was a little difficult to figure out something that he would love and cherish. They eventually put together his enjoyment of Lightening McQueen, Harry Potter, and all the superheroes and they knew immediately what would spark delight as a wish: Disney World and Universal Studios.

His wish experience in Florida ended up being a time when Age was able to smile and forget about all of his medical issues.

“A parents’ joy is to see their child filled with joy. Age smiled so much during our time in Florida that we didn’t want to come back to reality. It gave us all a time to reconnect, spend time together and bond as a family. This week helped remind us of how much we loved one another and could fight together stronger and united through all the hiccups on Age’s path,” his mom said.

Age and Chewy

Since his wish, Age cannot stop talking about it – especially the Harry Potter train, all of the princesses, Mickey Mouse, and his Star Wars favorites; BB-8, Kylo Ren and Chewbacca. He has already asked various times if his parents would take him back there already so his family already has plans to visit again during his birthday this coming October. They even plan to take Age back to Give Kids The World, a resort created for kids visiting the area during wishes, so that he can see his special star in the tower!

With renewed strength from his wish journey, Age continues to face difficult medical situations. He is currently in the hospital for hypertension and heart function complications, but he has been put on a new medication for hypertension so his family is hopeful to be heading home soon with their Amazing Age.

A parents’ joy is to see their child filled with joy. ”
