Make-A-Wish Illinois will team up with Chicago’s Very Own WGN-TV for an airline miles drive to support wishes granted to Illinois children. This year, more than 700 children with life-threatening medical conditions will have their wishes granted through Make-A-Wish Illinois, with an astonishing 80% of those wishes requiring air travel. Hosted at GATX Corporation Headquarters in Chicago on Thursday, May 25, the event will be covered by WGN-TV from 7am to 7pm. WGN News will have stories, cut-ins and updates on WGN Morning News, WGN Midday News and WGN Evening News. A full recap will be on WGN News at Nine and WGN News at Ten.

Each wish provides a unique opportunity for a child to find joy and strength thoroughout the wish granting process. It is not a last wish, but a lasting wish!

Many major airlines based in the United States allow members of their frequent flyer programs to donate airline miles to Make-A-Wish. Miles and points from American Airlines can be donated through their Kids In Need program, and Southwest Airlines and JetBlue can be donated through each airline’s program.

Donating air miles to Make-A-Wish is easy – and the miles never expire once they are in the Make-A-Wish account. Donated miles are used exclusively for wish family travel.
