Make-A-Wish Illinois invites those interested in volunteering to Bad Boy'z Pizza (313 16th St, Moline, IL 61265) on Thursday, October 10 for the Moline Area Volunteer Campaign Kickoff. Attendees will meet wish families and current volunteers while learning more about the types of volunteer needs in the area and how to find their fit.
In the Illinois Quad Cities, Make-A-Wish Illinois has a need for ten additional wish granters to help grant wishes to area children with critical illness. The Walk for Wishes Moline volunteer group is also looking for individuals, corporations and community groups to help the event, planned for late June in 2020 to grow.
Time commitments and volunteer needs vary by community. Bilingual (English/Spanish speaking) volunteers are also needed. More than 1,500+ specifically trained volunteers generously give their time and energy. Volunteers come from all walks of the community to become involved in the mission through a variety of capacities.
When you volunteer, you can help kids like Aidan, a wish child from East Moline who is fighting a brain tumor and recently returned home from his wish to have a SNUBA adventure.
All volunteer prospects must participate in a brief on-line info session, complete an application, choose an interview time, and submit completed paperwork. Learn more at illinois.wish.org/volunteer
About Make-A-Wish Illinois
Since being founded locally in 1985, the chapter has granted more than 15,000 wishes and continues its mission to share the power of a wish® with children across the state with help from dedicated volunteers and generous community members. Wishes are granted to children with life-threatening medical conditions in Illinois. A child does NOT necessarily have to have a terminal diagnosis to qualify.
