Make-A-Wish® Illinois is pleased to announce the following individuals who were recently elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the organization’s Illinois chapter: Caryn Guinta, Executive Vice President and Director of Employee Resources at First Midwest Bank in Itasca; Dominic Nakis, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Advocate Health Care in Downers Grove; Brian Paul, Partner at Michael Best & Friedrich LLP in Chicago; Katie Graham Shannon, Global Practice Managing Partner at Heidrick & Struggles in Chicago; and Jon Zeiler, Partner at Crowe Horwath in Chicago. Each will serve a three year term as a member of the board of directors.
As a member of the Board of Directors of Make-A-Wish Illinois, these new leadership volunteers will join 23 other directors who oversee the strategic direction of one of the largest Make-A-Wish chapters in the world. With an operating budget of more than $11 million, the organization will grant more than 700 wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions in Illinois this fiscal year.
Make-A-Wish® Illinois grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich their lives with hope, strength and joy. Since being founded locally in 1985, the chapter has granted more than 11,000 wishes and continues its mission to share the power of a wish® with special children across the state with help from dedicated volunteers and generous community members.
