Christian is a happy, soft spoken, and caring 15-year-old from Chicago. He loves to skateboard and play video games and is very interested in science and computers. In 2012, Christian was diagnosed with acute lymphoid leukemia, a type of cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow.
When he was referred to Make-A-Wish, Christian wished to meet his grandparents who live in Mexico. Christian had never met them in person. Recently, Christian and his family welcomed his grandparents at the airport for a visit.
“It was an emotional encounter,” said Christian’s sister. Christian and his grandparents hugged and kissed and he could not believe his wish was coming true.
This is the first time Christian’s grandparents have ever visited the United States and so Christian and his family are looking forward to spending time getting to know each other and doing a little bit of site seeing. They will spend the month exploring downtown Chicago, visiting the Magnificent Mile, checking out local museums, and maybe even catching a movie. Best of all Christian will get to bond with his extended family as he continues to recover from his illness.
