Much like most 8 year old girls, Ava loves dancing,
socializing and playing with her dolls. Even though she has had many hardships,
Ava continues to radiate happiness that is contagious to everyone around her.
Ava was diagnosed with a life-threatening seizure condition when
she was only a week old. Through her treatments at Cadence Health, Ava was
referred to Make-A-Wish by her nurse, Kathryn. Ava was excited to tell
Make-A-Wish that she would like to have a furry companion who could be her side
at all times.
Her wish was granted when she was partnered with a service
dog through the Committed Canine program. This program helps people looking for
a service dog to be matched with a dog that is unique to each individual person.
Ava’s furry friend was chosen specifically for her and her family needs and
Once Committed Canine had identified a perfect dog for Ava,
the fun part began where she and her family were able to travel to downstate Vandalia to pick up the new member of their family, Daisy. This adorable gray
and white dog immediately became a part of the family and became a great
companion for Ava.
Jill, Ava’s mother,
shared that “Daisy is absolutely perfect! She is doing very well with all the
changes she's experienced.”
