Nicholas is a 7-year-old Chicagoan who may be shy at first but warms up the more you get to know him. Nick loves Legos and spending time swimming and riding his bike. Diagnosed with a life-threatening hematologic disorder, he was referred to Make-A-Wish by a family member.
Through some conversations with is wish granting volunteers about his favorite things, Nick realized that a visit Walt Disney World® Resort would fulfill his wish.
He was thrilled to travel to the airport by limousine and once there, Nick was invited to tour the plane before boarding. He even got to sit in the captain’s seat! While exploring the park grounds Nick and his little sister Emma met a ton of Disney characters. A big Star Wars fan, Nick says his most favorite characters to meet were Chewbacca and Kylo Ren, while Emma, his younger sister, loved meeting Anna, Elsa and Rapunzel. Nick and his family were so happy to have the Genie Pass which allowed them to zip to the front of the line and make the most of their time in Disney.
Upon their return, Strive Logistics hosted a special Halloween party for Nick, which happened to land on the same day of the Cubs Championship Parade. During the party Nick was gifted a commemorative toy Mickey Mouse that was a big as he was! Emma even got a Minnie Mouse to match. Not only were the gifts a wonderful reminder of his wish, but retelling the story to these Make-A-Wish supporters allowed Nick and his family to relive the magic of his wish all over again.
“Make-A-Wish made us feel special in every way,” Nick's family shared of their experience.
