Donate Airline Miles March 13-22
Make-A-Wish® Illinois is proud to team up with NBC Chicago for a fourth airline miles drive to support wishes granted to Illinois children. This year, nearly 700 children with life-threatening medical conditions will have their wishes granted through Make-A-Wish Illinois, with an astonishing 80-percent of those wishes requiring air travel.
“NBC Chicago continues to be an important community collaborator for Make-A-Wish, helping us share the importance of wishes for sick children and assisting us with outreach to their viewers with concrete ways to help,” said Stephanie Springs, Chief Executive Officer of Make-A-Wish Illinois.
Many major airlines based in the United States allow members of their frequent flier programs to donate airline miles to Make-A-Wish. Frequent fliers can learn more about donating their air miles today at illinois.wish.org/miles. Miles from Delta Airlines and United Airlines can be donated directly to Make-A-Wish Illinois during this event. Miles and points from American Airlines can be donated through their Kids In Need program, and Southwest Airlines and JetBlue can be donated through each airline’s program. Air miles donors can also donate during business hours this week by calling 312.602.9494.
Thanks to United Airlines for agreeing to match United Airlines MileagePlus® miles donated to Make-A-Wish Illinois up to 1 Million Miles during our Miles for Smiles drive with NBC Chicago!
Donating air miles to Make-A-Wish is easy – and the miles never expire once they are in the Make-A-Wish account. Donated miles are used exclusively for wish family travel. Air travel is often required for wishes to attend national sporting events, to meet a celebrity or to visit an exotic location.
