Make-A-Wish® Illinois is proud to announce that for the third time the organization has been named one of The NonProfit Times Best Places to Work For 2016. This national honor is given to 50 non-profits based on results from comprehensive employer and employee surveys gauging important workplace metrics and attitudes.
In addition to the opportunity to be selected to the top 50 Best NonProfits to Work For 2016, a list that is published annually by the The NonProfit Times, this program provides employers with detailed feedback from their employees in areas spanning from training and development, pay and benefits, and work environment to role satisfaction, leadership and planning, and corporate culture.
“As we celebrate our 30th Anniversary, we are proud to be hitting our stride as a Best NonProfit to Work yet again,” said Stephanie Springs, Chief Executive Officer of Make-A-Wish Illinois. “Our staff is critical to our longevity and our continued growth and we work to serve every eligible child in Illinois. We are pleased to attract and retain high-caliber talent to engage with our wish families, donors and community members.”
Make-A-Wish Illinois placed 18th out of all 50 organizations, and 9th out of the small non-profits included in the list. In the past four years, the chapter has applied for the program three times and it has been recognized on each occasion. Headquartered in Chicago with field offices in Springfield and Peoria, Make-A-Wish Illinois serves all 102 counties in Illinois with help from 45 employees and more than 1,700 volunteers. Make-A-Wish Illinois is one of two Illinois non-profits listed.
Since being founded locally in 1985, the chapter continues its mission to share the power of a wish® with children across the state. With more than 13,000 wishes granted in the state, Make-A-Wish continues its work to Reach the Stars, with a goal of granting 1,000 wishes annually.
